A ship with humanitarian aid Monday left for Gaza from the Turkish port of Mersin.
According to the Turkish national radio and TV operator TRT, it is the 15th of the so called "goodness ships" sending aid to Palestinian people.
The shipment was prepared by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) with the Presidency jointly with the authorities of Mersin. The ship is carrying 1,956 t of foods, hygiene packages, blankets, tents and clothing.
According to the Turkish news media 14 ships and 16 planeloads with humanitarian air have already been sent with 25 t of foods, 8 field hospitals, 4 t of potable water, 53 ambulances, 3 field kitchens, 1,450 generators and toys, among other things.
The ship will deliver the aid to the port of Al Arish in Egypt and will be shipped to Gaza by trucks.
