The Romanian ferry Europa, which operates between Bulgaria's Nikopol border crossing and Romania's Turnu Magurele, has temporarily halted service because of a mechanical fault, Border Police said on its website on Saturday.

The border authorities also provided a border traffic update, valid as at 6 p.m.

At the border with Romania, heavy car traffic is reported in both directions at the Ruse and Vidin crossing points. Temporary traffic changes have been introduced across the Danube Bridge at Ruse due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. Traffic is restricted to one lane and is regulated by traffic lights. Drivers can take alternative routes through the checkpoints at Silistra, Kardam, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Krushari. The last two of these are closed to heavy-duty trucks and are open to passenger cars from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

At the border with Greece, traffic is normal at all checkpoints. Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border crossing points.

Traffic at the borders with Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia is normal at all border crossing points.

At the border with Turkiye, traffic is normal at all border crossing points. Temporarily, traffic through the Malko Tarnovo border crossing will be carried out in one lane due to reconstruction works.
