site.btaBorder Traffic Update
There is heavy traffic at Bulgaria's border control checkpoints with Romania, Serbia, and Turkiye, Border Police said on their website Tuesday. The information is valid as at 6 am.
At the border with Romania, there is heavy traffic for trucks exiting Bulgaria through the Vidin, Kardam, Oryahovo, Nikopol, and Durankulak checkpoints. Using alternative routes is advised. At Oryahovo, the ferry is not working due to the low water level of the Danube. Due to repair works of the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge over the Danube on the Bulgarian side, traffic is controlled by traffic lights to let vehicles through in stages. Alternatives for the drivers in the region are the Silistra, Kaynardzha, and Kroushari crossings. The last two of these are closed to heavy-duty trucks; they are open to passenger cars from 8 am to 8 pm.
At the border with Serbia, there is heavy traffic for trucks exiting Bulgaria through the Kalotina checkpoint.
At the border with Turkiye, there is heavy traffic for passenger cars entering Bulgaria through the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo checkpoints.
Traffic at the border crossings with North Macedonia and Serbia is normal.
