In 2026, the number of women in Turkey will exceed the number of men, the Turkish Statistical Institute has projected.

For the first time in 86 years, the numerical superiority of men in demographic terms will end.

In 2026, when Turkiye's total population is expected to reach 86,654, 276, the number of Turkish women is projected to be 43, 340, 550 and the number of Turkish men 43, 314, 221.

In 2023, Turkiye’s population stood at 85,372,377, of which 42,735,710 were men and 42,638,306 were women.

By the end of this year, the population is expected to be 85,811,876, of which 42,944,857 are male and 42,811,876 are female.

The Turkish Statistical Institute predicts that the country's population in 2030 will reach 88,188,221, of which 44,191,468 will be women, while men will be 43,996,753.

The country's population is expected to grow until the mid-2050s, after which it will drop to 88,286,941.
