High summer temperatures in Istanbul are accompanied by high levels of humidity, which rise the "feels like" temperatures. On Friday and Saturday, humidity in some of the districts in Istanbul exceeded 90%, the local meteorological service said.

On Friday night, a temperature of 25.7C was measured in the city, but due to the high level of humidity which reached 82%, the "feels like" temperature was 28.2C.

In Atasehir, one of the largest district on Istanbul's Asian coast, humidity reached a record 100% but the measured temperature was only 23.2C.

In all 39 districts of Istanbul, the "feels like" temperatures are between 2C and 5C higher than the measured ones because of the humidity, which is between 75% and 100%.

Even hotter weather is expected in Istanbul next week. According to the weather forecast, the "feels like" temperatures will rise to 40C due to the high levels of humidity.
