As at 6 am on Friday, the traffic is heavy at the border control checkpoints with Romania, Serbia, and Turkiye, Bulgaria's Border Police said on their website. Heavy duty trucks should expect normal traffic at all border crossings with North Macedonia and Greece, except those closed for trucks (Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad).

On the border with Romania, there is heavy traffic at the Vidin, Kardam, Nikopol, and Oryahovo checkpoints for heavy duty trucks exiting Bulgaria. Until May 31, there are emergency repair works at the Danube Bridge between Ruse and Giurgiu, with traffic being limited to one lane.

On the border with Serbia, there is heavy traffic at the Kalotina crossing for trucks exiting Bulgaria as a result of reconstruction and modernization works. On weekends, cars take longer to cross into Serbia.

On the border with Turkiye, there is heavy traffic at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint for trucks exiting Bulgaria.
