Revenues from nights spent by tourists at accommodation establishments in Bulgaria in October 2024 increased by 16.5% compared with October 2023, reaching BGN 97.6 million, including BGN 57.3 million received from Bulgarians and BGN 40.3 million from foreigners, the National Statistical Institute reported on Wednesday.

Bed occupancy at accommodation establishments in October 2024 was 24.5%, going up by 0.6 percentage points compared with October 2023. Bed occupancy was highest at 4- and 5-star hotels (28.4%), followed by 3-star establishments (26.5%) and 1- and 2-star places (17.1%).

A total of 511,100 tourists spent nights at accommodation establishments in October 2024, which was an increase by 3.6% year on year, with both Bulgarians (4.3%) and foreigners (2%) showing a change upwards. Bulgarian guests numbered 359,200 and spent an average of 2 nights each. Foreign guests totalled 151,900 and spent an average of 2.4 nights each. Most of the foreigners (74.7%) stayed at 4- and 5-star hotels.
