site.btaTrakia University Rector, Vice-Rector to Take Part in Scientific Forum in South Africa
Trakia University Rector Prof Dobri Yarkov and Vice-Rector Prof Darina Zaimova will participate in a scientific forum in the Republic of South Africa, the press centre of the university said on Tuesday.
Yarkov and Zaimova are part of the Bulgarian scientific delegation that will represent the country at the event organized by the Science and Technology Ministry of the Republic of South Africa. The invitation to Trakia University to participate is related to the serious scientific results of the National Science Programme Intelligent Animal Husbandry.
The Bulgarian delegation was warmly welcomed by the Bulgarian Embassy in South Africa, headed by Maria Tsotsorkova-Kaymakchieva, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Bulgarian Embassy.
During the visit, the Bulgarian scientists will meet with representatives of key institutions such as the State Institute of Astronomy, the Agricultural Research Centre and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, as well as the Hartebeeshoek Radio Astronomy Observatory and TOKA BIO, where they will get acquainted with the facilities and activities.
The culmination of the visit will be the panel discussion on Prospects for Research and Innovation Cooperation between Bulgaria and South Africa, which will be held at the International Congress Centre of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research.
According to the announced programme, Yarkov and Zaimova will meet the Science and Technology of South Africa and visit the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and High Performance Computing Systems, as well as participate in the opening plenary session of the Science Forum.
