The Bulgarian National Bank Friday announced a base interest rate (simple per annum interest) of 3.04% as of December 1. It is 0.18 percentage points down from 3.22% in November.

The base interest rate has gone down for the third month in a row. The December 2024 base interest rate is the lowest since June 2023, when it was 2.96%.

The base interest peaked at 3.80% in December 2023 and March 2024. It was 0.00% from February 2016 to the end of September 2022. In October 2022 it went up to 0.49%.
