site.btaBulgarians' Trips Abroad Up by Nearly 4% in October, Y/Y

Bulgarians made some 721,000 trips abroad in October 2024, which is an increase of 3.9% from the same month of 2023, the National Statistical Institute said on Wednesday.

An increase was registered in the number of trips for all purposes under review: holiday and recreation by 7.4%, business by 4.8%, and other purposes by 0.3%. 

In October 2024, foreigners made over 953,000 trips to Bulgaria, up by 6% year-on-year. An increase was observed in the number of trips for all purposes observed: holiday and recreation by 12.9%, business by 4.7%, and other purposes by 1.6%. Transit trips numbered 347,500, accounting for 36.5% of foreigners' visits to this country.
