The football team of the Federation of Adapted Physical Activity - Bulgaria took part in the International Football Tournament for Children with Disabilities and Down Syndrome in Skopje on Saturday, which was also attended by teams from North Macedonia and Serbia. 

The event in the capital of North Macedonia is being held for the seventh year, Borce Boev, Secretary General of the Association of Macedonian Sport Federations, told BTA. 

"In the swimming, football and athletics tournaments that are held every year here, in Bulgaria, in Croatia and in Serbia participate children who already know each other and communicate with each other", said Boev, who specified that in mid-November the teams will attend swimming and football competitions in Sofia.  

Slav Petkov, chairman of the Federation of Adapted Physical Activity in Bulgaria, pointed out that the long-standing partnership between the teams of Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Croatia and Serbia is deepening and the alliance, which is planned to be expanded, will include other Balkan countries, as they have already established contacts with Turkiye. 

Regardless of how the tournament ends, you are already winners, Borko Ristovski, Minister of Sports of North Macedonia, addressed the young athletes, pointing out that inclusion and equal opportunities for all are one of the priorities of the newly established ministry, which is also the patron of the tournament.  

Yesterday, Bulgarian children and young people with mental difficulties also took part in an International Swimming Tournament held in Skopje.

Diplomats from the Bulgarian Embassy in North Macedonia also attended the tournament on Saturday.
