4.2-magnitude Quake Registered in Romania's Vrancea Region

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was registered at 6:19 am local (and Bulgarian) time in the Romanian seismic region of Vrancea on Friday, according to data of the National Institute for Earth Physics.

The quake occurred at a depth of 103.8 km. The nearest towns to the epicentre are Foksani (44 km west), Buzau (58 km north), Sfantu Gheorghe (69 km east), Brasov (79 km east) and Ploiesti (91 km northeast).
