site.btaBurgas State University Rector, Ukraine's Ambassador Discuss Bilateral Cooperation in Education

The Rector of Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov University in the Black Sea city of Burgas, Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozov, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Bulgaria, Olesia Ilashchuk, have discussed cooperation opportunities, the university’s press center said.

Ilashchuk praised the educational institutions in Bulgaria for providing Ukrainian students currently living in this country with training opportunities. Bozov said that Burgas University supports Ukrainian education in several ways.

"We admit and train Ukrainian students, although we do not get subsidized for this by the State. We do it out of fraternal feelings. We are also providing university lecturers from Ukraine with training in Bulgarian so they could start teaching our students by next year," Bozov said.

The sides discussed students’ and teachers’ exchange under various international projects and the Erasmus + programme, the possibility of training foreign students so they can receive diplomas from two universities under joint training programmes in the fields of medicine, computer science, engineering and technology, and the humanities.
