site.btaPresident Radev to Visit US, Represent Bulgaria at 79th Session of UN General Assembly
Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev will be paying a working visit to the United States from September 24 to 26, the head of State’s Press Secretariat said on Friday. Radev will lead the Bulgarian delegation and represent this country at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
Radev will attend the opening of the General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, mottoed "Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development, and human dignity for present and future generations".
In New York, the Bulgarian head of State will also participate in the Global Coalition to Address Synthetic Drug Threats Summit, which is held under the auspices of US President Joe Biden.
On September 25, Radev will address the General Debate. He will also participate in the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, a high-level partnership between NATO and the Gulf Cooperation Council launched at the 2004 NATO Summit in Istanbul.
Later in the day, US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will host a reception to honour heads of state and government and their spouses on the occasion of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
On September 26, Radev will hold a meeting with representatives of leading American companies, organized by the American-Central European Business Association.
During his working visit to New York, the Bulgarian President will confer with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, heads of state and government, government officials of various countries, and representatives of international organizations.
The delegation led by Radev is made up of caretaker Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov and caretaker Environment and Water Minister Petar Dimitrov. Rumen Radev will be accompanied by his spouse, Desislava Radeva.
