The first-ever Sofia Chilli Fest will be held in the village of Lozen near Bulgaria’s capital on October 12 and 13, Chilli Hills, organizers of the event, said.

"This year, Chilli Hills turns 10 years old and on this occasion we decided to launch something big – the Sofia Chilli Fest," the organizers explained, adding that they want to continue developing this culture in Bulgaria by creating a platform for Bulgarian producers of hot, spicy foods.

The 2024 Sofia Chilli Fest will be attended by Guinness world record holder Shahina Waseem, also known as the UK Chilli Queen, organizer Alexander "Sando" Kyourkiev said.

The highlight of the programme of the festival will be the League of Fire chilli eating contest.
