Bulgarian Consul General in Nis, Dimitar Tsanev, and the Chair of the Bulgarian-Serbian Centre (BSC) in Vranje, Darko Anachkov, have signed an agreement for implementation of a project titled "European Cultural Corner", the Bulgarian and Serbian multimedia portal FAR said on Thursday.
"This is the sixth project that we have signed with the BSC in Vranje in the last four years. The project envisages the creation of a cultural corner in the library in Vranje or Vranjska Banja. Bulgaria supports Serbia in its European course and every project we implement on the territory of Serbia is aimed at building a civil society in Serbia and at promoting European values," Tsanev said.
"The main aim of this project is to promote the cultural diversity of the Balkans. The target group is young people who bring changes and progress and it is very important that they understand the importance of cultural diversity, which is the basis of the future of both Serbia and Bulgaria. The specific goal of the project is the creation of a cultural corner, which will represent a part of the city library in Vranje or Vranjska Banja. We are planning to equip the library with bookshelves and provide European literature," Anachkov noted.
The project is funded by the Bulgarian Development Aid Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
