Youlian Tabakov's Water Tower installation will be on display at Sofia's Plus 359 Gallery between August 15 and September 15, the organizers said.
Tabakov works in the visual and performing arts and in illustration. He earned a Master's Degree in Scenography and Costume Design from the National Art Academy in Sofia in 2000 and a second one, in Fine Arts - photography and sculpture, from ENS des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2002.
In 2012, he finished his first documentary, Tzvetanka, which was selected for Documentary Fortnight 2013: MoMA's International Festival of Nonfiction Film and Media, and by CPH: DOX, Dok Lepzig and more than 25 other festivals, and received 12 international awards. Since 1998, he has made set and costume designs for over 60 productions of drama, puppet and movement theatre, opera, documentaries and fiction films. He received the Golden Age Award for his contribution to the development of Bulgarian culture and many prizes in theatre, film and illustration.
