Six-time Grammy winner Jacob Collier will perform with the Mystery of Bulgarian Voices in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture on July 11, the choir’s manager, Boyana Bunkova, said.
The European leg of the 29-year-old’s world tour will kick off in Bulgaria following the release of his latest album, Djesse Vol. 4.
The concert will feature solo performances of songs off Collier's new album, solo performances by the Mystery of Bulgarian Voices, and never-before-presented collaborations.
Recognized by critics and fellow musicians alike as one of the most gifted young artists of modern times, Collier has worked with names such as Coldplay, SZA, Stormzy, Alicia Keys, and Shawn Mendes.
The young musician first caught the attention of Quincy Jones, a world-renowned American music and television producer, manager, conductor, and composer, who has worked with some of the biggest names in jazz. Collier made a lasting impression on Jones with the complex covers of famous songs he used to post on YouTube, performing multiple instruments and vocal harmonies simultaneously.
Under the mentorship of Jones, Collier recorded and released his debut album, In My Room, in 2016, in which he played every instrument, and recorded every vocal track. In recent years, he has gained popularity with live performances, where he conducts the audience to sing harmony or percussion parts. He is also known for his gift of conveying his understanding of complex aspects of music theory in layman's terms.
