Handing an exploratory mandate to form a government to Rosen Zhelyazkov, the prime minister-designate of GERB-UDF here on Monday, President Rumen Radev said that it is "a major responsibility and ordeal". The President mentioned the fragmented Parliament, the low turnout in the June 9 elections which, he said, "invariably impacts the legitimacy of institutions" and which "needs to be addressed with systematic efforts in the name of the public interest".

Zhelyazkov immediately presented a proposal for a Cabinet composition and lineup, and asked the President to issue a decree to send the proposal to Parliament.
