Seawater samples taken from the waters of Albena's beach and Kranevo's south beach meet the health requirements, the Regional Health Inspectorate - Dobrich said on Sunday. The Inspectorate added that the presence of enterococci and Escherichia coli was detected near Kranevo's central beach, with the results probably influenced by the emergency situation that occurred in the area of the faulty discharge collector of the Albena water treatment plant.

Due to the presence of localized short-term contamination, health inspectors recommend limiting entering the water in the area of the collector failure.

Caretaker Environment Minister Petar Dimitrov visited Kranevo on Saturday, explaining that there was a failure of pipes that discharge purified water into the sea

A new sampling has been carried out on Sunday, and another sampling will also be carried out on June 25, the Regional Health Inspectorate - Dobrich reported. The Inspectorate added that regular monitoring of Escherichia coli and enterococci will be carried out in the area of the accident in order to track the indicators and establish the status of seawaters in the area until they improve in accordance with the health requirements and will inform the public of the results in due course.
