On this date in Bulgarian history:

1862: Tarnovo Uprising against Ottoman rule breaks out. Brutally suppressed across Bulgaria.

1895: Bulgarian parliamentarians leave for St Petersburg to negotiate re-establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations. Emperor Nicholas II receives them on July 5. 

1934: Statutory Ordinance banning political party organizations is gazetted after May 19, 1934 coup.

1991: Diplomatic relations established with Dominican Republic.

2007: Council of Ministers decides to open Bulgarian Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuania. 

2013: Second bridge over Danube, linking Vidin (Bulgaria) and Calafat (Romania), is inaugurated.
