PFC Levski Sofia is organizing a five-hour show to celebrate its 110th anniversary on May 24. One of Bulgaria's most successful football clubs will host fans and music lovers in its home stadium named after its icon, Georgi "Gundi" Asparuhov.
Singers Dicho, Billy Hlapeto, Mihaela Fileva and Grafa will come up on stage. The audience will also have a chance to watch the trailer for the first feature film about Gundi. The main actors, Pavel Ivanov and Alexandra Svilenova, will be there as guests.
Levski was founded on May 24, 1914, about two years after Bulgaria's oldest football club, Botev Plovdiv, and a year after Sofia's oldest, Slavia.
According to information available on Levski's website, the club boasts 26 league titles, 27 Bulgaria Cups and three Bulgaria Super Cups. In the European tournaments, Levski has reached the quarter-finals in the Cup Winners' Cup (1970, 1977, 1987) and the UEFA Cup (1976, 2006), and the group stage of the Champions League (2006-2007).
Gundi (1943-1971) has been proclaimed Bulgaria's greatest football player of all time. The talented and charismatic striker died in a tragic car accident at the height of his career.
