The drama around the replacement of the caretaker foreign minister should be entirely credited to GERB and the President, who apparently cannot reach an agreement, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP Daniel Lorer told journalists in Parliament on Thursday. He stressed that the appointments in Dimitar Glavchev's caretaker cabinet were not coordinated with the CC-DB.
On April 15, caretaker Prime Minister Glavchev proposed to have caretaker Foreign Minister Stefan Dimitrov dismissed, after earlier in the day GERB leader Boyko Borissov suggested that Dimitrov has to be replaced. On Wednesday, Borissov called that turn of events a “coincidence”. Glavchev's proposal was to have the post filled by one of GERB deputy leaders Daniel Mitov.
“With some humour I would say - we are observing some infighting between GERB and GERB,” Lorer pointed out. He recalled that the caretaker prime minister Dimitar Glavchev is a former GERB MP.
“It is important to clarify - the caretaker cabinet is not elected by the parliament,” the underlined.
