Servicepersons and military equipment will move on the national road network in the last week of March and early April, the Defence Ministry said here on Friday. They are part of the Bulgarian military contingent that will join the Regional Command West of the NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR) and will move towards the border with the Republic of North Macedonia. The convoys will be escorted by Military Police Service teams, the Ministry added.

On 21 March, a manoeuvre battalion of the Regional Command West was sent to Yambol (with a solemn ceremony. It is part of a contingent of about 100 Bulgarian servicemen who will participate in KFOR. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Defence Lieutenant General Mihail Popov and Land Forces Commander Major General Deyan Deshkov. The mission will last six months.
