site.btaCC-DB Co-Floor Leader Atanas Atanassov Says He Will Propose to His Coalition to Resume Negotiations with GERB-UDF

Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) Co-Floor Leader Atanas Atanassov told journalists in Parliament on Thursday that he will propose to his colleagues from CC-DB to resume government negotiations with GERB-UDF. "We could go back to negotiations, we will take the decision together," he added. 

On Tuesday, the negotiations between the two leading political forces broke down after GERB-UDF's Prime Minister-designate Mariya Gabriel returned the first exploratory mandate to form government to the President fulfilled and proposed a cabinet lineup that was not coordinated with CC-DB's negotiating team.

CC-DB reacted sharply. At a coalition press conference later on Tuesday, outgoing Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said that many of the nominated ministers have not agreed to participate in this cabinet, including himself. Continue the Change co-leader Assen Vassilev called Gabriel "the beautiful face of the Mafia", added that her actions discredit her, and she cannot and should not be prime minister of Bulgaria.

On Wednesday, GERB leader Boyko Borissov said that GERB-UDF will return to the negotiating table only if CC-DB apologize for their words.
