site.bta11.5 Kg Marijuana Seized at Bulgaria's Border with Romania
Bulgarian customs inspectors at the Danube Bridge 2 border crossing near Vidin intercepted 11.5 kg of marijuana, the Customs Agency reported on Friday.
The drug was found in sackcloth bags and black plastic bags hidden in the semitrailer of a truck entering Bulgaria from Romania. The truck was transporting office equipment from Germany via Bulgaria to Georgia. It was driven by a Turkish national.
The marijuana was impounded. Pretrial proceedings were instituted under the supervision of the Vidin District Prosecution Office. The 27-year-old Turkish driver was taken into 72-hour custody.
