site.btaSofia Police Seize 8 Kg of Drugs, BGN 560,000

Eight kilograms of drugs and BGN 560,000 were seized in a raid conducted by the police here on Thursday, the Ministry of Interior reported. The operation uncovered a greenhouse used for growing narcotic plants, 63 pots with plants, equipment for their cultivation, an electronic scale, dried herbal mass and powdery substances.

Tests showed that the seized substances were 5 kg of marijuana, nearly 2 kg of ecstasy and 925.61 grams of cocaine.

Two men were detained with a police warrant for up to 24 hours. One of them, a 24-year-old man, was released after the expiry of the measure. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated. Following a report of the evidence to the Sofia City Prosecution Service, the other man, a 40-year-old, was charged and remains in custody for up to 72 hours.
