Alexander Asenov won Friday the first medal for Bulgaria at the INAS World Indoor Athletics Championships for persons with intellectual disability, held in France.

The Bulgarian placed second in the triathlon with 823 points. Asenov won first places in two of the three disciplines - the 60m sprint with a time of 8:67 and the shot put with 8.07m. In the long jump, he finished second with a score of 3.05 meters.

The gold medal went to Nicolas Virapin (France) with 874 points. Brigitte Macron, wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, awarded the medal winners.
