Lithuanian violinist Julian Rachlin will return to Bulgaria for a concert with the Sofia Philharmonic under the baton of Georgi Dimitrov on February 29. The programme will include works by composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the organizers said on Friday.

The concert will feature the Lucio Silla Overture, Violin and Orchestra Concerto No. 3 in G Major and Symphony No. 36 also known as Linz Symphony.

Julian Rachlin is a soloist, conductor, chamber musician, teacher and artistic director.

He completed his musical education at the Vienna University of Music and Arts in the class of Prof. Boris Kuschnir. Rachlin took private lessons with renowned Israeli violinist and violist Pinchas Zukerman in New York, who encouraged him to continue developing his viola playing, the Sofia Philharmonic said.

Later, Rachlin began studying conducting with Latvian conductor Mariss Jansons and was also guided in this field by Italian conductor Daniele Gatti.
