site.btaDefence Minister Tagarev Pays Official Visit to Turkiye
On Tuesday, Bulgarian Defence Minister Todor Tagarev left for an official visit to Ankara at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Yasar Guler, Tagarev's ministry said in a press release. The two sides will discuss topical bilateral issues concerning security and defence.
At the meeting, Tagarev and Guler are expected to discuss opportunities for Bulgaria and Turkiye to participate in joint defence initiatives and prospects for enhancing interoperability, combat training and equipping the armed forces. The two ministers will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Bulgaria and Turkiye on cross-border air policing operations.
During the visit, the Bulgarian delegation is scheduled to confer with representatives of Turkiye’s National Security Council and the National Defence Committee of Turkiye’s Grand National Assembly.
