Valentina Georgieva won a silver medal in the vault final and Eddie Penev won a bronze medal on floor at the Gymnastics World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, which is an Olympic qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Georgieva got an average score of 13.620 points. The gold went to An Chang Ok (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) with 14,230 points. For Georgieva, this is the first competition after a year and a half absence and knee surgery.

In the men's event, Eddie Penev entered the final as first reserve, but performed strongly in his floor combination and was awarded 13.800 points. Only Ryu Sunghyun (Republic of Korea) with 14,070 points, and Diorges Escobar (Cuba) with 13,900 points were ahead of him.

Bulgaria has another World Cup final in Cairo on Sunday after Dimitar Dimitrov finished in the top eight on vault.
