The Republic of North Macedonia will continue to be among the largest recipients of Bulgarian development aid, National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov said in Skopje, quoted by the National Assembly press centre on Friday.

Zhelyazkov is on a working visit to North Macedonia where he attended a closing event of a project funded by the Bulgarian development aid at the Bulgarian Cultural and Information Centre in Skopje. Thirty children with disabilities, their parents and teachers received vouchers for internet training tailored to their individual needs.

Last year, another thirty projects were financed in the Republic of North Macedonia with funds from the Bulgarian development aid, which is the largest number of projects of all the countries to which Bulgaria provides assistance, Zhelyazkov stressed. The total value of the projects is BGN 985,600, and those with more funding are to support access to quality healthcare and services for vulnerable social groups, he said. The Bulgarian Parliament Chair expressed confidence that next year equal access to education and the resources needed for quality education for children with special educational needs will be among the priorities of the Bulgarian aid.

At the Bulgarian Cultural Information Centre in Skopje, Zhelyazkov also attended a creative workshop for children. The children's drawings will be used to make greeting cards, which will be printed and distributed within the framework of a project funded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture.
