Monday does not offer good weather conditions for mountain hiking, the Mountain Rescue Service said on Monday morning. The terrain is slippery at high altitutes due to a 2-3 cm snow cover, coupled with a moderate to strong wind, so tourists are advised to stick to the forest belt. Temperatures vary between minus 2C and 4C in mountain resorts.

No incidents with tourists were reported in the last 24 hours.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology forecasts rain showers in Southern Bulgaria's massifs and snow at altitudes above 1,700 - 1,900 m on Monday. The highs will be around 7C at 1,200 m and around 1C at 2,000 m, with moderate to strong northwesterly wind.
