Parliament could not hold a sitting on Wednesday for lack of a quorum. The second attempt at registration showed that there were 67 MPs in the hall out of 121 needed for the sitting to start. That is why Parliament Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov scheduled a sitting for Thursday morning.

MPs of CC-DB, Vazrazhdane, BSP for Bulgaria and TISP were present in the hall, while the seats of GERB-UDF and MRF remained empty.

At the beginning of a regular government meeting, Prime Minister Denkov expressed hope that this was "a moment of weakness, related to the fact that each of the parties has to reconsider the results of the elections and see how it will move forward". "The actions of the parties in the coming days will show which of them are interested only in their narrow party interests and which are interested in the fate of Bulgaria. I hope that they will find the right way so that we can move forward on the path we have been working on. The Council of Ministers will continue to work and fulfil its tasks and commitments", he said.

Denkov added that in the next five weeks the National Assembly has three important tasks to complete for the country - to adopt the state budget for 2024 on time, to make the long-awaited changes to the Constitution, to adopt the rules and to start the procedure for electing a new anti-corruption commission. "How these three tasks are solved will determine how Bulgaria will develop in the years to come," the Prime Minister said.
