Progress on each of the government's priorities is extremely good, said Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov opening the Powers Summit 2023 discussion platform in Sofia.

The main themes of Powers Summit 2023 are healthcare, energy, sustainable development, entrepreneurship, education and investment. Among the participants are representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, politicians, business representatives and experts.

Denkov pointed out that among the main priorities of the government are Bulgaria's accession to Schengen and the euro area, to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, as well as a reform in the justice system.

"If we solve these problems, we create a basis on which to build a better future," the Prime Minister said. He added that over the past ten years this country has failed to reform its justice system and to fully integrate into European institutions.

"It does not matter who comes from what sector. It is important to pool our knowledge and our experience, collectively defining what is most important for Bulgaria today," Denkov told the forum participants.

Health, economy, energy and education are the other priorities for the government that the Prime Minister pointed out. In Denkov's words, the health sector should offer good working conditions for doctors and nurses to stay working in the country. This will be a top priority for next year, he said, adding that air ambulance will be implemented next year.

He also talked about the necessity to promote Bulgaria as a brand. He commented that it is not enough just to have something good, but we have to present it in such a way that others recognise it and accept it.

In his speech Denkov thanked the National Assembly for the work on the programme set by the government. In 2025 and 2026 the main priority will be to improve the quality of life and solve demographic problems, he said.
