According to data released by the Central Election Commission on Monday, the voter turnout in the local elections was 36.87% in the runoffs on November 5 and 44.94% in the first round on October 29. That means that as at 8 p.m. on election day, 1,437,005 out of 3,897,609 voters had cast their vote in the runoffs, and 2,713,979 out of 6,038,622 voters had gone to the ballot box in the first round of the local elections.
In comparison, in the 2019 local elections the voter turnout was 49.76%, with 3,093,213 out of 6,216,503 voters having voted.
In the first round of the 2023 local elections, the voter turnout was 13.88% as at 11 a.m. and 34.16% as at 4 p.m. In the runoffs, the voter turnout was 9.19% as at 11 a.m. and 26.40% as at 4 p.m.
