After the runoff local elections on Sunday, Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova told reporters her party is "extremely happy" with their results. "We won four regional capitals: Shumen, Razgrad, Ruse, and Silistra," she told reporters, adding that the BSP also won by some 50,000 more votes for municipal councilors.
"That is an exceptional success for us. Together with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, we are the two parties who in these elections increase our votes both for the party and in terms of number of mayors in the country," she noted.
