Defence Minister Todor Tagarev told journalists on Saturday in regards to the protection of the Bulgarian border, that over 50 military personnel have already been sent out there, in addition to the 300 military personnel already on duty. "If necessary, we will send more," said Tagarev.

The Minister explained that the expected migrant pressure would not prevent this country from entering Schengen. "I think everyone understands the current situation and the conditions under which we have to guarantee border security. We will do our best to guarantee it," Tagarev pointed out.

Regarding the possibility of NATO providing assistance to Israel, Tagarev said: "NATO expressed full political support to the State of Israel, which was the target of a horrific terrorist act and actions, but NATO, in general, is not planning an operation in that region.” However, some countries have already expressed their intention to help Israel ensure its security, he added.

Israel's intention is very clear and adamant that they will conduct such a ground operation, Tagarev commented regarding what is happening in the Middle Eastern country. He added that the operation is associated with its risks and the population of Gaza has been warned to evacuate. "We will see what will happen," Tagarev pointed out.
