Bulgarian Albena Mladenova won the award "Coach of the Year 2023" in Austria, reported Melange Bulgaren, a blog for Bulgarians in Austria.

Albena Mladenova is the national synchronized swimming coach of Austria. In recent years, her team has achieved remarkable success, winning prizes in prestigious competitions, the outlet said.

At the World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, this year, sisters Anna-Maria and Eirini-Marina Alexandri won the world title and gold as a duet, while their sister Vasiliki-Pagona took two silver medals in the individual event. These successes earned Albena Mladenova the Coach of the Year 2023 award. In this category she competed with Jakob Drok (mountain biking) and Kilian Fischhuber (climbing), the publication added.

The award was officially presented at a gala evening at the Wiener Stadthalle arena.
