Sofia hosted Monday a Bulgaria-Vietnam business forum focusing on policies and legislation for enhancing bilateral relations. It took place within the framework of the Sofia visit of the Chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue. Vuong Dinh Hue is in Bulgaria at the invitation of Parliament Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov.

Addressing the forum, Vuong said that Vietnam will continue to work closely with Bulgaria to deepen cooperation in all areas. "Regardless of the vicissitudes we have faced and the regional landscape, our countries have never stopped building friendship and cooperation," he added.

National Assembly Deputy Chair Rositsa Kirova said that strengthening and deepening relations with Vietnam should be a goal for Bulgaria. The two countries have relations dating back more than 70 years, Kirova recalled. She called Vietnam "our trusted friend and long-standing partner in the dynamically developing world and region of Southeast Asia".

In her words, the forum is another proof of the common desire to develop bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, energy, industry, high-tech agriculture, pharmaceutics, medicine, information technology, innovation and tourism. Kirova added that thousands of Vietnamese citizens have received their higher education in Bulgaria over the years.
