site.bta“Time Shelter”, “Mamnik” among Most Popular Audiobooks in Bulgaria

Georgi Gospodinov's novel Time Shelter and Vasil Popov's audio series Mamnik have been among the most popular audiobooks in this country since the beginning of the year, Storitel reports. A total of about 5,000 works in Bulgarian are available as audio or e-books on the platform. Among them, children's literature predominates, followed by documentaries, which also include podcasts.

According to an analysis of user preferences in different seasons during the summer, romance novels, crime novels and thrillers are preferred. Then there is also an increase in the demand for classical literature, in particular Bulgarian literature, from the list of compulsory titles in the school curriculum. A peak in demand for audio and e-books is observed in September, when people return to their working and studying routines. During this period, books on self-improvement, documentaries, historical and biographical titles are mainly listened to.

The winner of the second edition of the Bulgarian audio series competition will be announced this autumn.
