The traffic at the Kulata-Promachonas border crossing point is extremely intense, as the column is over two kilometers, the General Directorate of Border Police told BTA on Saturday.

There are five lanes open for cars and buses, and one for trucks.

Traffic has been intense since the morning and the Bulgarian border guards have been working at maximum capacity throughout the day, the official on duty said.

On the Bulgarian-Greek border, car traffic is also intense at the Makaza - Nymphaia checkpoint, Border Police said on its official website. They recommend citizens travelling to and from Greece to use the other checkpoints on the Bulgarian-Greek border - Ilinden, Zlatograd, Ivaylovgrad, Kapitan Petko Voyvoda, in addition to Kulata and Makaza. Only cars and minibuses can pass through the border crossing points Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad, Border Police also said.
