The role of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in the context of global security, the possibilities for expanding cooperation between Bulgaria and the OSCE, tackling security challenges in Europe, Bulgaria's contribution as chair of the OSCE Security Cooperation Forum, and joint activities in the fight against human trafficking were discussed at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel and OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid in Bled, Slovenia, the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister said on Facebook.

Gabriel is participating in the annual Strategic Forum, which is taking place on August 28-29 in Bled, Slovenia. The theme of the forum is "Solidarity for Global Security", and among its topics are energy, food, water and cyber security.

She also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto. They discussed trade, energy, transport, migration, innovation and digitisation. In a Facebook post, Gabriel thanked Hungary for its strong support for Bulgaria's accession to Schengen.

She also thanked the Minister for the invitation to pay an official visit to Hungary.

The deepening of relations between Bulgaria and Serbia, bilateral cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, connectivity and innovation, science and education, as well as Serbia's European path were discussed at another meeting between Gabriel and Serbia's Minister of European Integration Tanja Miscevic. An interesting discussion, shared ideas and a willingness to work on strategic issues for Bulgaria and Serbia, Gabriel wrote in another Facebook post.
