site.btaPresident Radev Discusses Armed Forces' Staffing and Modernization with Minister, Chief of Defence

President Rumen Radev held a discussion on Tuesday with Defence Minister Todor Tagarev and Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov. The main topic was taking urgent measures for the staffing of the Bulgarian Army and for unwavering actions to accelerate its modernization.

Stopping the outflow of military personnel, including trained officers, sergeants and soldiers, as well as attracting qualified people to the Armed Forces and their retention, require adequate social programmes and conditions for their full training, the President stressed. The complicated security environment requires a responsible attitude and timely actions at all levels of the state to guarantee national security through the development of adequate defence capabilities and interoperability of the Armed Forces, Radev also pointed out.
