Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov attended the annual meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) member states in Lodz, Poland. The annual meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the 57 OSCE participating States is held at the invitation of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Poland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau, on December 1 and 2.

The meeting's main topic was the ongoing military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the resulting security implications for Europe and the further role of the OSCE, Deputy Foreign Minister and Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Kostadin Kodzhabashev said at a briefing at the ministry on Thursday.

According to Kodzhabashev, the agenda of the meeting reflects the approach adopted by the Polish chairmanship of changing the business mode of work and refocusing the activities of the OSCE's main bodies on the war in Ukraine. During the meeting, the ministers will participate in an informal dinner and a working lunch, during which the causes of the current crisis in the OSCE will be discussed, and the prospects for restoring trust between the participating states, he noted.

The Deputy Foreign Minister said that Bulgaria will co-author together with the other EU member states a side event organised by Ukraine on December 1, within the framework of the meeting, on the topic "Joint action to end Russia's impunity and ensure justice for the victims of the war in Ukraine".
