Public Social Insurance Revenues Reach Lv 2,332 Mln by June 2015

Sofia, August 24 (BTA) - Public social insurance revenues (excluding transfers) by June 2015 amounted to 2,331.7 million leva, or 50.9 per cent of the annual target, the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) said in a press release on Monday.

This level was by 115.3 million leva more than the target for the first half of the year, according to the report on the implementation of the public social insurance consolidated budget by June 2015.

Public social insurance expenditures for the first half of 2015 amounted to 4,744.1 million leva, or 44.8 million leva more than the target planned. The total amount of expenditures includes the lump-sum supplements to pensions paid in April 2015, aggregating 49.2 million leva, which were not planned in the budget.

Pensions were the largest expenditure item, amounting to 4,164.5 million leva. This figure includes the expenditures on pensions financed by public social insurance and the executive budget, as well as the lump-sum supplements to pensions paid in April 2015. The pension expenditures reported exceeded the plan target by 21.2 million leva of 0.5 per cent.

By June 30, 2015, pensioners numbered 2,177,216, or 2,766 fewer than by the same date of 2014. The average monthly pension per pensioner for June was 313.39 leva. Compared to June 2014, the nominal increase of this amount was 12.80 leva (4.3 per cent), and the real-terms year-on-year increase was 4.9 per cent.

A total of 578.5 million leva were spent on social allowances and benefits in the first half of 2015. This represented 50 per cent of the annual target and exceeded the planned amount by 25.9 million leva.
