ABV Will Not Support Possible Partisan Candidate for PresidentNominated by BSP

Sofia, July 21 (BTA) - The ABV will not support a possible partisan candidate for president of Bulgaria nominated by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), ABV Deputy Chairman Ivailo Kalfin told Nova Television on Thursday. Kalfin said his colleagues in the ABV are considering "more open-minded candidates."

"If the BSP actually proposes a partisan candidate, this will show that nothing has changed in its ranks, despite its assertions to the contrary," said Kalfin, who is a former BSP member like many other major figures in the ABV.

He was adamant that he and ABV Chairman Georgi Purvanov are not being considered for the presidency.
