Socialist Party Demands Budget 2017 Update

Sofia, June 16 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Friday requested an update of Budget 2017. BSP leader Kornelia Ninova read a declaration in the name of the parliamentary group.

According to the left, GERB is intentionally reducing the revenue section of the budget to report excess, Ninova said. Thus GERB will be able to distribute funds not under the National Budget Act but by the single decision of the PM and the Council of Ministers. "We are not a PM republic and we demand an update of the budget," Ninova insisted.

Instead of Parliament deciding how to finance municipalities, this is decided singly by PM Borissov by political means, encouraging servile mayors and punishing those that are not. This is the way in which the incumbent divide the Bulgarian people, Ninova said.

We are talking of Europe at two speeds, but at how many speeds does Bulgaria live, Ninova asked. In her words, the incumbent do not have a regional policy or a vision how to overcome differences.

Ninova also accused the incumbent of the practice to transfer obligations to municipalities without financial backup.

BSP will submit a request to the Constitutional Court to rescind the Public Finances Act allowing funding of municipalities to come from the Council of Ministers, not from the State Budget Act.
