Sofia, September 12 (BTA) - In the January - July 2017 period, all goods exported from Bulgaria were valued at 29,772.4 million leva, up 13.8 per cent from the comparable period of 2016, according to preliminary data released by the National Statistical Institute on Tuesday.

In July 2017, exports totaled 4,604.6 million leva, up 9.8 per cent, year on year.

The total value of all the goods imported into this country in the January - July 2017 period was 33,192.8 million leva (at CIF prices), or 17.0 per cent more than in the same period of 2016.

In July 2017, total imports increased by 8.1 per cent from the same month of the previous year, reaching 4,695.4 million leva.

The total foreign trade balance (exports FOB - import CIF) was negative in the January - July 2017 period, amounting to 3,420.4 million leva. At FOB/FOB prices (after elimination of freight and insurance costs), the January - July 2017 total foreign trade balance was also negative, adding up to 1,814.5 million leva.

In July 2017, the total foreign trade balance (exports FOB - import CIF) was negative, amounting to 90.8 million leva. The trade balance at FOB/FOB prices was positive and amounted to 138.2 million leva.

In the January - June 2017 period, Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 11.3 per cent from the same period of 2016 and reached 16,345.6 million leva. Bulgaria's principal trading partners in this group were Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, France and Belgium which accounted for 69.0 per cent of the exports to EU Member States.

In June 2017, exports to the rest of the EU increased by 13.1 per cent from the comparable month of the previous year and amounted to 3,048.5 million leva.

Bulgarian imports from the EU in the January - June 2017 period increased by 12.2 per cent, year on year, adding up to 18,067.5 million leva at CIF prices. The largest imports came from Germany , Italy, Romania, Spain and Greece.

In June 2017, Bulgarian imports from EU Member States grew by 7.6 per cent from June 2016, amounting to 3,122.5 million leva.

Bulgaria's foreign trade balance (export FOB - import CIF) with the EU in the January - June 2017 period was negative and added up to 1,721.9 million leva. At FOB/FOB prices (after elimination of freight and insurance costs), the trade balance was also negative, amounting to 857.9 million leva.

In the January - July 2017 period, Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 18.9 per cent from the seven-month period of 2016 and amounted to 10,304.5 million leva. Bulgaria's principal trading partners in this group were Turkey, Russia, China, Serbia, Macedonia and Egypt which accounted for 51.1 per cent of the exports to non EU countries.

In July 2017, Bulgarian exports to third countries grew by 8.1 per cent from the comparable month of the previous year and amounted to 1,482.3 million leva.

Bulgarian imports from third countries in the January - July 2017 period increased by 29.9 per cent from the seven-month period of 2016 and added up to 12,135.7 million leva (at CIF prices). The largest amounts of goods were imported from Russia, Turkey, China and Serbia.

In July 2017, Bulgarian imports from third countries grew by 20.1 per cent from the like month of the previous year and amounted to 1,705.8 million leva.

Bulgaria's foreign trade balance (export FOB - import CIF) with third countries in the January - July 2017 period was negative and added up to 1,831.2 million leva. The trade balance at FOB/FOB prices (after elimination of freight and insurance costs) was also negative and amounted to 1,238.8 million leva.

In July 2017, Bulgaria's foreign trade balance (export FOB - import CIF) with third countries was negative and a mounted to 223.5 million leva.
