Sofia, January 29 (BTA) - The Supreme Administrative Prosecution Office (SAPO) said Monday that it has appealed a January 12 decision of the Sofia Administrative Court to dismiss a complaint against a decision of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission to increase the price of natural gas.

As of April 1 2017 the price of natural gas went up by 29.6 per cent.

SAPO argued that the court did not take into consideration a failure on the part of the regulator to comply with an ordinance on fixing the prices of natural gas, whose aim is to ensure the most favourable price.

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approves the prices at which public gas supplier Bulgargaz sells natural gas.

SAPO wants the Supreme Administrative Court to cancel the court's decision and
the regulator's decision to increase the price of natural gas.
